BOXING.
MONDAY EVENING'S CONTEST. At the Town Hall on Monday evening, Jim Broadfoot, Auckland's middle-weight, will fight a fifteen-rounds contest with Artie Hay, of Hastings. Hay is eagerly looking for a win against Broadfoot in order that he may again meet Harry Casey, against whom he has previously fought on four occasions, losing the firstcontest on a foul, the second bv a knockout, winning the next on points, and losing the last by a knock-out. Hay is a wiry boxer-fighter and carries a fair punch. Broadfoot is at present seeking New Zealand middle-weight honours. Although he did not gain the decision against Lachie Macdonald, "the New Zealand thunderbolt," as some of the Australians have called him, he certainly put up a most creditable showing. His fights.with Em Mac and with Purdy are also well remembered by Aucklanders.
The amateur preliminaries will be contested between clever boys and should be very interesting. Box plan arrangements advertised in this issue.
