ORPHANS' CLUB NIGHT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PAPAKURA. Friday. The Papakura Orphans' Club held its closing night tor the season last evening. There was a large attendance, including official visitors from the Auckland, Takapuna, Birkenhead and 'Northcote, Onehunga and Otahuhu clubs. The Rev. W. C. Wood, president of the Papakura Club, presided. .During the evening, Mr. L. Kelly, of Auckland, a life member of the Papakura Club, presented to the club an honours board for recording the holder of the office of president each year. An excellent programme of music and humour •was contributed by local and visiting talent. The final stages of *he reconstruction of the Great South Road through Papakura have been reached, the tar-sealing of the road shoulders abutting the concrete paving having been completed and the sealing the footpaths being almost completed. U-he whole work has added greatly to the appearance cf Papakura.
