BROADFOOT TO MEET HAY. NORTHERN ASSOCIATION MATCH. The Northern Boxing Association has matched Jim Broadfoot. of Auckland, and Artie Hay, of Hastings, for a middle-weight contest in Auckland on October HI Broadfoot ia well known in Auckland, where he has fought on several occasions. His latest victory was over McKnight, in Hamilton, on August 29, and ho was subsequently defeated on points in a IS-rounds contest in Auckland with Lachie McDonald. Hay fonght Purdy in Auckland some months ago, Purdy getting a points decision at the end of an even contest over 15 rounds He has _ taken part in bouts in various centres in New Zealand. NEW ZEALAND OFFICIAL. Mr. G. P. Aldridge, secretary of the New Zealand Boxing Council, arrived in Auckland yesterday from Wellington. He left for Sydney by the Aorangi last night to attend a conference with the Australian Amateur Boxjag and Wrestling Union.
