MEETING ENDS ABRUPTLY.

DISSATISFIED RATEPAYERS. CLASSIFICATION FOR DRAINAGE. [by telegraph.— own CORRESPONDENT. J TE AROHA. Friday An abrupt ending marked a meeting of over 50 ratepayers at Waitoa last evening, over which Mr. F.. W. Walters presided. The meeting had been called to discuss the new drainage classification prepared by the board's engineer, Mr. W. R. Johnson, but when the chairman called upon Mr. Johnson to explain the details of the classification he refused, saying he would reserve what he had to say for the Court. A motion of no confidence in the board was lost by a large majority, but the expressions of opinion against the attitude of the engineer were very emphatic. When the members of the board withdrew from the meeting, the ratepayers remained to discuss what action they would take to combat what they des cribed as an iniquitous classification.
