RESPECT FOR NATIONALS. FORMER AMBASSADOR'S VIEWS. A, and N.Z WASHINGTON, Oct 0. j\lr. James Sheffield, a former American Ambassador to Mexico, conferred with the President, Mr Coolidge. Later Mr. Sheffield said that if Mexico cannot work out the solution of her future, she will have to be helped- He said that he had the highest regard for the Mexican people, but he had had difficulty with the Mexican Government while hfe was Ambassador. American property rights should be protected under international law. There was no reason why American citizens should not enjoy the Bame respect south of the Rio Grande River as they did north of it. Mr. Sheffield later conferred with the Secretary of State, Mr. F. B. Kellogg, and the Assistant Secretary of State, Mr. R. E. Olds, and the Ambassador-designate to Mexico, Mr. Lhvight Morrow.
