CHEQUE NOT ACCEPTED.
HOSPITAL PATIENTS' FUND. SHARE OF STREET COLLECTION. Refusal to accept a cheque for £IBB 10s, the hospital patients' fund's share of a recent street collection, was made by a representative of the committee controlling the fund, at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary yesterday. The auxiliary had advertised the fact that a third of the amount collected in the city would be the fund's share of the effort, and the £IBB 10s represented this amount. The representative of fcho fund askad the auxiliary to hold the cheque until the committee was able to discuss the position.
