CONVICTED BY BABY.
WITNESS OF THREE YEARS. The evidence of his own child, aged three years, was accepted beforo the Monte Carlo Criminal Court against Etienne Blangino, a wealthy Riviera hotelkeeper, who was sentence'd to 20 years' penal servitude for the murder of his wife and his daughter, aged nine. Hearing screams in the middle of the night the hotel staff went to Mmo. Blangmo's room and found her and her daughter lying dead on their bed, beside which stood Etienne Blangino, half-dressed with blood-stained clothing. The only direct witness was the baby, aged thtera, who was in the room at the time. When questioned quietly by the police the baby babbled. " Why did daddy cut mv mummy and aister ? " Despite Blangino's protests of innocence the child's conjectures were regarded by the jury as conclusive evidence.
