, OPENING PRACTICES. The University, Ponsonby and Parnell Cricket Clubs will hold opening practices this afternoon. The University Club will practice at the University grounds, the Ponsonby Club at Victoria Park, and the Parne.ll *Club at the Outer Domain. A general meeting of the Balmoral Club will be held on Wednesday evening. PUKEKOHE ASSOCIATION. COMPETITION ARRANGEMENTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Friday. The annual meeting of the Pukekohe Cricket Association was held last evening, the president, Mr. J. F. Deane, presiding. Delegates were present from the four affiliated clubs, Pukekohe, Franklin Old Boys, Wesley College and Pukekohe Technical High School. The secretary, Mr. J. K. Bonner, reported that last year, which was the association's first season, four teams had competed in the association's competition, and High School had won. Representative matches had also been played, in which the association had acquitted itself creditably. The financial statement showed revenue £9, and expenditure £7, leaving a credit balance of £2. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr. J. Roulston; president, Mr. Deane; vicepresidents, Messrs. J. B. Brown, R. C. Clark, W. Dazeley and W. F. J. Munro; secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. V. Fox; auditor," Mr. R. Archer; sole selector, Mr. It was decided that the association's competition should open on November 5, the draw for the first matches being:— High School v. Pukekohe, Wesley College v. Old Boys. It was agreed that championship points should be awarded as follows:—For a win by a margin of one innings, 4-points; for a win on a two-innings match, by a lesser margin, 3 points; for a win on the first innings, 2 points; for a draw, 1 point to each team. An offer by the Auckland Harbour Board team to play the association s representative team .on Labour Day was accepted. It was also decided to invite the Auckland Tramways Club to fix a date for a match with the association. It was agreed to take steps to obtain a shield on which to record the names of the winners of the association's championship each season THE PUKEKOHE CLUB. Stembridge, J. Routly, R. F. Wilkinson and H. J. Sumner; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. K. Bonner; management committee, Messrs. J. Hall, A. v. Fox and Bonner; delegates to the Pukekohe Cricket Association, Messrs. Fox and Bonner. Thanks were accorded Mr. Deane for his services in past seasons as treasurer of the club. It was announced that the bat presented by Mr. Stembridge for the best batting average in the club last season had been won by H. Pleydell.
