PORK BUTCHER'S VENTURE.
CREDITORS NOT SATISFIED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday. For continuing to trade while an undischarged bankrupt, a Wellington pork butcher, John Henry Whitaker, was taken to task at a meeting of his creditors to-day. The evidence stated that bankrupt had filed a petition at Gisborne about 11 years ago, and had again failed at Hastings, about five years ago, when he suffered imprisonment for breaches of the Bankruotcy Act. In spite of these warnings he' had started business in Wellington. He again threw himself upon the mercy of his creditors. It was decided to place the papers before the Crown solicitor. At the first meeting of his creditors, about a fortnight ago, Whitaker _ refused, upon the advice of his solicitor, to answer anv questions. There was a larce attendance of creditors yesterday. The amount owing to unsecured creditors was shown as £346 Is 6d, and the only assets were stock in trade valued at £SO, / leaving a deficiency of £296 Is 6d.
