TUAKAU TOWN BOARD.
RESIGNATION OF MEMBER. STOCK BRIDGE OVER RAILWAY.. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORBESPONDENT. ] TUAKATJ. Friday. The Tuakau Town Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. W. J- Taylor, presiding. Mr. H 0. Melisop wrote resigning from the board owing to his having removed from the district. Appreciation of Mr. Mellsop's services as a member of the board was recorded. The clerk was instructed to call for nominations to fill the vacancy. The Raglan County Council advised that it was in sympathy with the board's endeavour to have advantage taken oi the offer of the Railway Department for the erection of an overhead bridge for livestock at the Tuakau railway yards. The members for the Pukekawa, Onewhero, Port Waikato and Whangape ridings had been appointed to meet the board with a view to completing an arrangement. The chairman and Messrs. J C. Self and G Arrowsmith were appointed to discuss the matter on behalf of the board with the council riding members. , An offer by Mrs. Hill to contnbute £25 toward work to prevent stormwater flooding on her property was accepted, the work to be done in conjunction with the raising of the sides of Harrisville Hill RoadThe Railway Department advised that stormwater from the northern end of the main street flowing into the cattlestop on the railway unduly added to the cost of maintenance of the railway line. The board decided to do what it conld to remedy the trouble. Mr. Arrowsmith was asked to submit a revised set of by-laws to the board, provision to be included for dealing with undue noise from motor-cycles, controlling the speed of motor vehicles* and regulating the parking of cars. The board decided to meet tha residents of Jellicoe Avenue on the question of a footpath in the avenue.
