BOXING.
BROADFOOT V. McDONALD, NORTHERN ASSOCIATION MATCH The Northern Boxing Association announces that Jim Broadfoot, of Auckland, will meet Lackie McDonald, of Dunedin, in a 15-round contest for a purse of .£IOO in the Town Hall on Monday, September 19. Broadfoot is training hard and is determined to give the ex-champion a good battle. McDonald is a middle-weight of proved ability. He knows the game thoroughly and will take a great deal of upsetting. On the other hand, Broadfoot is also a clever boxer. His showing against McKnight in Hamilton recently places him in a high rank. He is almost as much at home in defence as in offensive action, and when he takes up the attack he hits hard and often. Should he win this fight, he will be in direct running for a match with Harry Casey, the present title-holder.
