SENIOR COMPETITION GAMES. THE ROOPE ROOSTER SERIES. NEWTON TO PLAY MARIST. The Auckland Rugby League's Roope Rooster charity competition will commence to-morrow, when tho first series of the knock-out games will be played. At Carlaw Park, Newton, the club champions, will play Marist, and a close match is anticipated. On No. '2 ground at Carlaw Park-, Richmond will play City, and at Victoria. Park, Ponsonby will meet Athletic. Each team defeated in to-morrow's games will be eliminated from the competition, which is to be continued while the Auckland representative team is on its Southern tour.
