LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
SENIOR COMPETITION GAMES. THE ROOPE ROOSTER SERIES. NEWTON TO PLAY MARIST. The Auckland Rugby League's Roope Rooster charity competition will commence to-morrow, when tho first series of the knock-out games will be played. At Carlaw Park, Newton, the club champions, will play Marist, and a close match is anticipated. On No. '2 ground at Carlaw Park-, Richmond will play City, and at Victoria. Park, Ponsonby will meet Athletic. Each team defeated in to-morrow's games will be eliminated from the competition, which is to be continued while the Auckland representative team is on its Southern tour. Following are the teams: — NEWTON. Senior Grade.—Herewini, Hardgrave, Dufty, Little. McLeod, Mornian, Hales, McIntyre, Salleni Clarke. Somers, Hall, Henry, Stack, Rhodes, Hammond. Kattems. PONSONBY. Senior Grade.—Grey. Langley, Gardiner, Usher, Peckham (3), fiutt, Payne (2), Ward, Pagan, Allen, Lowry, Stevens, Cole," Delgrosso, McNeil, Wilson. PARNELL. Senior 1$ Grade.—Little. Lawrence, Anderson, Pattern, McClure, Keane, Uavies, Kerr, Ritchie, Malloy (2), Clark, Brockliss, Smith, Boyle, Faulkiner. O'Donnell. Third Grade Intermediate.—Simpson, McConnell, McDonald, Tait, Clough, Clark, Stewart. Riley, Wilkins, Hunt. Jones, Moore. Claphaiu, Orinsby.
