AKARANA YACHT CLUB.
DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES. WILD WAVE WINS POINTS FLAG. Tho Akarana Yacht Club held its annual distribution of prizes and dance in the Masonic Hall. Belgium Street, last evening. There was a very large attendance, including representatives of tho various yacht and launch clubs. The prizes made a fine showing and included sis valuable cups, ton coils of rope and many other useful articlqs for use both ashore and ufloat. In distributing the trophies. Mr. H O Wiles, vice-president, said the club had had another successful season and it was pleasing to announce that a start would be made on the new clubhouse in Mechanics' Buy at an early date. He appealed to all present to assist the club in its efforts to procure a home of its own. Yachting was the finest on sport 3 an< 3 should be encouraged, ihe most important cups were won by the following:—E R. Davis Cup. Wairiki • CommodQres Cup, Nga-toa; He-o-lin Cup. Atangatui; Captain White's Cup, Winifred ; Y\. A. Wilkinson's Cup. Cupid; Akarntia championship, for 14-footers. Cupid: Booby Cup. Molhe; Brett Cup. Ola IV. Jhe champion flap f or boats crossing the bnishmg-lino first the greatest number of tunes was won by Namu, the champion nap for the Star class by Ola IV.. and the champion flag for all classes bv Wild Wave bor fins particular flag Wild Wave, Mnnene Winifred tied with 20} points each and Dy mutual agreement lots were drawn to doc,de the flag tho successful boat being Wild Wave. • Q"P' which had been won outright by \v imfred with two wins in succession. was presented hack to the club for competition by Mr. Fred. Lidgard. the former owner of Winifred
