LIGHTING OF STREETS, WATER. FOR DAIRY FACTORIES. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] / OPOTIKI, Wednesday. The Opofiki Borough Council met on Monday evening, the Mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody, presiding. A report was received from the engineer to the Bay of Plenty Power Board on the proposed means of lighting the streets •when the hoard takes control. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee to report at. next meeting. Mr. F. J. Short was appointed assessor to appear at the Valuation Assessment Court at Whakatane in September. The Cemetery Committee reported on the site for the new cemetery near Woodlands. The matter was left in the hands of the Mayor, deputy-mayor and town clerk. New rates for water supplied to the Opotiki Dairy Association were fixed at Is a 1000 gallons, tip to 1,000,000 gallons, and 6d for each 1000 gallons afterwards.
