DANCE AT WAITAKERE.

Children and adults alike enjoyed themselves at a dance held at Waitakere on Fridav to raise funds for the purpose of buying a piano for the locfil school. The headmistress, Mrs. de Montalk, -witn the hearty co-operation of the ladies ot the district, organised a children s fancydress ball. Fifty of the little foik performed dances which they had been specially taught and Hiade a pretty spectacle. The following prizes were awarded : —Prettiest dress: Lena Goodali "Old-fashioned Caroline"; most original cirl's dress: Nellie McLean, Grandma ; best boy's, dress: Ned Smyth, as a rooster; most original hoys dress: Noel Gregory, as a "sundowner."
