Miss Ethel Hammond is on a visit to Auckland from Hamilton. Mrs. Ralph Worley is the guest of Mrs. Rupert Worley in Hamilton. Mrs. G. Macintosh has taken up her residence in Lochiel Road, Remuera. Mrs. W. H. Jacob, of Kiwitea, Palmerston North, is visiting Auckland. « Mrs. D. Lundon, of Cambridge, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Poole, Mount Eden. Mrs. H. Biggs is an Auckland visitor to Hamilton and is the guest of Mrs. A. Beale. Mrs. T. Brown, of Dunedin, has returned from Auckland, and is staying at Braeburn. Miss Alice Taylor, who has been visiting friends in Wanganui, has returned to her home in Te Awamutu. Miss Joan Landels, of Hastings, is on a visit to Auckland, and is staying with Mrs. Pike, Ridings Road. Mrs. Robert McCracken, of Ellerslie, with her family, is the guest of Mrs. Mcßoberts, Maraetai, for the school vacation. • Mr. and Mrs. David C. Wright, accomfianied by Mrs. Clifford Wright and Miss sobel Smallbone, have left oa a motor tour to Wellington. On Friday evening the girls' branch of the Navy League held a dance in the Navy League rooms, Customs Street, when the ships' companies of H.M.S. Dunedin and H.M.S. Diomede were entertained. A large number of dancers were present and an enjoyable time was spent. During the evening Mrs. Ifwersen, president of the girls' branch, accepted on behalf of the members a framed photograph of H.M.S. Diomede, bearing a silver tablet suitably inscribed. This was the gift of the ship's company of H.M.S. Diomede, as a token of appreciation of the efforts of the girls' branch of the Navy League in entertaining the men during their stay in port.
