CARGO OF BLUEBOTTLES.

CHRYSALISES FROM BRITAIN. SCIENTIFIC WAR, ON BLOWFLY. (Received August 21, 6.15 p.m.) Sun . LONDON, Aug. 20. A curious cargo will shortly be sent overseas, under tho auspices of the Bureau of Entomology and the Empire Marketing Board. This consists of nearly 15.000 chrysalises of the English bluebottle fly, which have been carefully packed in layers of moss in wooden boxes, and will bo kept at a uniform temperature. The chrysalises are destined for New Zealand, Australia and tho Falkland Islands. When tho boxes are unpacked small parasite (lies which feed on the bluebottles will emerge. It is believed they will attack and exterminate their natural enemy, the blowfly, which is a great pest to sheep. Similar experiments last year were very successful. Of the chrysalises 6400 are being sent to New South Wales, 6000 to New Zealand and 2000 to the Falkland Islands.
