Mount Welcome.—As reported last week, gold showed up, very freely at the noint where the reef had been thrown oil the proper courso At this point a break occurs and the reef rolled over very much to the west. We were at this point directly under the first-known run of gold up in INo. 2 level known as Barker's. From this point to the winze is still about 300 ft., with several known runs of gold in between coming down We will drive ahead wj prove the value of the reef at. present, our intention heinc to out up o rise to No. *. at a more useful point from which we can commence stoning. A fair amount of quartz is being . paddocked showing strong colours, but so I far no picked stone lins come to hand. In the face the reef looks well.
