NOTES FROM CANTERBURY. CUP HORSES AT ADDINGTON. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Sea Pearl looks very we!' She did not race prominently at the August meeting at Addington, but she had not been long in work. She is now commencing her preparation for the New Zealand Cup. Logan wood, who raced so well and successfully at tho August meeting, where he won the fast mile harness event and also a two-mile race, is having a short spell Dillon Wilkes was. raced and backed at the August meeting, but, ho did not show up at tho finish of bis races. He had not been raced for some time, and it looks as though he will require some racing beforo he is at his best. Ho is doing well in his training. A recent addition to A. G. Wilson s stable is the pacer Audubon Chief, who not done much racing to date. He is by Great Audubon from that good mare Silver I rincess, who was successfully raced by H McDonnell, of Ashburton. Audience, who is by Great Audubon troui tho dam of Loganwood. has resumed work at New Brighton. The trotter Nancy McKmney is going »u well in her training, and she will be raced at the early spring meetings J. N. Clarke has just recommissioned the trotter Duco. do showed some promise when raced last season. Tho pacer Asset looks well and has fumished a good deal during tho last few months. She will* be racing in the near future. A. G. Wilson has a two-year-old trotter by Sonoma Harvester from tho Electioneer mare Fatality in work. The youngster has only had a few weeks' training, but he has a real turn of speed and is particularly well gaiter]. It is not intended to do much with him in the meantime, as after a few months work lie is to ho turned out again and given a further spell. Wilson has been particularly successful with trotters, the wellknown mare Rota Peter being in his charge when she secured two New Zealand Cups. It now appears as though he has another possible champion in the Sonoma Harvester gelding, provided he trains on satisfactorily. The American maio Biddy Logan is now being trained by 3j.
