Tauranga.—The Tauranga Kugby Union 8 junior competition was continued, when Mount Maunganui defeated Rangataua after a keenly-contested gamo by 13 points to 11. A match between the Tauranga and Te Puke primary schools teams was won by Tauranga by 16 points to 3. Rotorua.—ln a Rugby football match Rotorua High School, 42. beat Takapuna High School, 3. The visitors' forwards were a good lot, but tho local backs were brilliant, handling the ball with precision. The match between tho Bay of Plenty and the Thames Valley was keenly contested, the visitors having hard lnck to lose. The scores were: Bay of Plenty, 6: Thames Valley. 3. The Valley team scored from a penalty in front of the goal in tho first 20 minutes. Kelly, for the Bay. scored near the corner flag in the second quarter. No g;oal resulted.
