LOCAL GOVERNMENT.
THE METROPOLITAN AREA. In connection with the proposals for the revision of local government in the Auckland metropolitan area a deputation from the committee promoting the scheme waited upon the Mayor of Mount Eden. Mr. E. H. Potter, last week and requested him to call a meeting of local bodies at which it might explain the proposals. Mr. Potter stated last evening he had agreed to call a meeting, which would be held at the Society of Arts Hall next Wednesday He had received a similar request from the One Tree Hill Road Board.
