NATIVE LAND PROBLEMS.

CONFERENCE AT TE KUITI. WIDESPREAD response made. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COB RESPONDENT.] TE KUITI, Sunday. A widespread response has been received l>y ''the conveners in respect to the native lands conference, to be held in Te Kuiti on Thursday. Apart from the local bodies interested in the King Country, over 20 local bodies throughout the North Island have signified their intention of sending delegates. A number of invitations have been sent to prominent King Country, natives, and the Department of Native Affairs has , also been asked to have a native representative attend. The suggestion that the natives should be asked to attend came from the Te Kuiti Borough Council, aud the adoption of this Suggestion is being viewed as a move:in the right direction..
