YOUNG MAORI PARTY.
MARKET GARDENING SCHEME COMPETITION WITH CHINESE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT- ] WANGANUI. Sunday The Young Maori Party has paid a large snm for the lease of 10 acres of land at Putiki, which is to b<? used for market, gardening. The Maoris intend to grow vegetables in competition with the Chinese. and it is expected that a number of youths and girls will be employed. The Young' Maori Party has also set up a new committee to manage the Morikau farm, up the river, which for many years was run on a communal basis.
