PLAY IN AMATEUR FINAL. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] , WELLINGTON, Friday. In the first session of the final round of the New Zealand amateur billiards championship at the Federal Club this evening Freeman, the Federal player, secured a lead of 280 points. Freeman played a sound and consistent game, and scored on most of his visits to the table. He compiled several useful breaks of up to 33. Roberts for 99 visits to the table scored only 388 points, while Freeman for the same number of visits scored 668. Freeman's average was 6.75 and Roberts' 3.8. In the later stages of the game Roberts made 33 visits and scored 126 points. The best breaks by Freeman were 25, 31, 21, 20, 20, 22, 37, 33 and 22; and by Roberts 21, 24, 20, 27 and 42.
