CONVERSION OF A CAR.

SENTENCE OF DETENTION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Friday. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, an unfavourable police report waa read by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., concerning Kenneth Hugh Gough, aged 20 years, who came up for sentence on a charge of converting a motor-car to his own use. The magistrate said accused had been convicted for theft three times and once for unlawfully converting a motor-cycle to his own use. It was not too late for accused to mend his ways and he would be placed in an institution where he would be given useful educative work. He wa3 sentenced to be detained in a Borstal Institute for a period not exceeding two years.
