INTOXICATED MOTORISTS.

MAGISTRATE IMPOSES FINE. NO DRIVING FOR THREE YEARS. [3T TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRTSTCHURCH. Friday Charges of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car, and with failing to comply with the terms of his probation, were preferred against George Alexander Low, who appeared in the Magistrate's Conrt to-day before Mr. S. D. Mosley, S.M., as a seqnel to a collision with a safety zone. Senior-Sergeant Martin said accused had previously been convicted of speeding. The probation officer said: "I have seen nothing in his conduct to warrant any action being taken, but I must say I have an idea that he sails pretty close to the wind." . "I do not think you will drive a car for some time to come," said the magisOn the first charge Low was convicted and fined £5, in default one month s imprisonment. His licence also was cancelled and he was prohibited from obtaining a further licence for three years, from April 1, 1928. He was convicted on the second charge and released on his former probation.
