PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

ANNUAL MEETINGS HELD. THE PARNELL CONGREGATION. The annual meeting of tha Knox Presbyterian Church, Parnell, was held on Wednesday evening, the Rev. A. Macdonald Aspland presiding over a good attendance. The session report stated that 3o names had Deeu added to the Communion roll and four had been removed, leaving a total of 142. The spiritual life of the congregation was in a healthy state ana was finding its expression in the senior and junior Bible classes, Young Worshippers' League, Sabbath school and other minor organisations of the church. The Sabbath school was doing good work in Parnell and great credit was due to the superintendent, Mr. W. Morrison, and his staff of teachers for the good results achieved during the year. The gross revenue for the year was £1159 which included £202 contributed to the Jubilee Scholarship fund (Dr. Gibb's caifapaign) and £139 to missions and other activities of the church, resulting in a credit balance. A sale of work was held by the ladies in Septembei, which realised £lO2 Ihe sum of £IOO was paid off the Manse mortgage, which now stood at £7OO, the only debt remaining on the church property. The following were elected managers: Mesdames W. Fegan, W. I). Grant and Messrs. Gilmer, McQuarrie, Scarborough, R. I. Byers. H. S. Carmichael, G. H. Cornes, F. Hookev, E. Rishworth and N. Wood. PROGRESS AT REMUERA. The annual meeting of the Somervell Presbyterian Church was held on Wednesday evening, when there was a good attendance.

The clerk of session, Mr. K. C. McLaurin, stated there were 248 members on the roll, find about 200 children attending the Somervell and Meadowbank Sunday Schools. The total receipts for the year were £4618, including the bequest of £3300 by the late Mrs. J. Cargo toward the erection of a new church. The Rev. J. Pattison referred to the hopeful outlook for the future, and also remarked on the early departure for India of the Rev. J. L Gray, and Mrs. Gray, the missionaries of the congregation, and the inspiration their visit had brought. Eulogistic references were made to the services of the organist, Mr. R. J Morris, and the conductor, Mr. T. Adams. The following were elected to the committee of management: —Messrs. J. Ward, J. McKinley, H. Piatt, G. R. Hutchinson and V. A. Hopkirk. Mrs. A. L. Wilson and Mrs. R. I. Allan were appointed to represent the congregation on the ladies' orphanages committee. ELLERSLIE HALL PROPOSAL. The annual meeting of the Ellerslie Presbyterian Church was held on Wednesday evening, the Rev. S. E. Hill presides- < t, Very encouraging reports were submitted bv the session and by the various committees. The most pressing problem to be faced in the near future is the provision of a suitable Sunday School hall. A section has been purchased and efforts will be directed to the raising of funds for the hall.
