Advice was received from the Valuation Department that" the board's valuation rolls were being returned with all available amendments, as at March 31, 1927. ' . Mr. J. N. Anderson, engineer, said it would not be necessary to provide new plans for a bridge over the Te Kauri No. ] drain. Five stringers would be sufficient for a 12ft. structure. . The Minister of Internal Affairs forwarded authority to borrow moneys up to £IOOO, in addition to a previous authority to borrow up to £2OOO. The Department of Lands and Survey forwarded approval of the plans and specifications relating to the Te Kauri No, ] outlet, and stated that every effort would be made to make the subsidy available. The Minister of Lands advised that the question of a free grant for the Te Kauri outlet in lieu of a £ for £ subsidy would be considered with the Public Works Fund estimates for the current year. It was resolved to regard the KerepeehiKopuarahi roadside drain as an emergency drain, to be cleared at two or three year intervals as occasion required. The foreman, Mr. Flavell, reported that Price's drain had slipped to such an extent that a gang of men was continuously employed in removing debris. The meeting agreed with Mr. Miller in an expression of opinion that the board had been seriously nt fault in incurring expenditure on this drain. The hope was expressed, however, that the consolidation of the banks would prevent further trouble.
