PAY OF POLITICIANS.
TASMANI AN * INQUIRY. PROPOSALS FOR INCREASES. (Received August 18, 11.20 p.m.) A. and N.Z. HOBART, Aug. 18. A Joint Committee of both Houses of tho Tasmanian Parliament has been appointed to inquire into a proposal by the Government to increase the salaries of members from £3OO a year to £SOO. It is also proposed that tho Premier shall receive £ISOO and Ministers £1250 each.
