MYSTERIOUS INTRUDER.

OTAHUHU HOUSES VISITED. TWO IN ONE EVENING. A night prowler is disturbing the peace of mind of Otahuhu residents. On two recent occasions visits have been paid to neighbouring houses in Albert Street. Hearing a noise m a bedroom about 8.30 on a recent evening, Mr. A. M. McDonald went to investigate and he was just in time to see a man take a flying leap through the open window on to the verandah and escape. An hour later the adjoining residence of Mr. Nicholls was entered, but the intruder was disturbed and again escaped. Mrs. Nicholls, however, gained a good view of the man and would recognise him again. Nothing of value was taken from either residence, but the contents of drawers were scattered about the room. Ihe intruder fled from Mr. McDonald's house in such a hurry that he left a pair of boots and socks on the verandah, and these are now in the possession of the police. Complaint that a "peeping Tom" had frightened some' women residents was made several weeks ago, but ifc is not known whether this person is identical with the mysterious visitor to the residences in Albert Street.
