AUCKLAND CLUB EXTENSION. AGREEMENT WITH CITY COUNCIL. A lease of portion of the Domain for the construction of a bowling green has been offered to the Auckland Bowling Club by the City Council on condition that the club •transfers to the council without charge portion of its property at the corner of Domain Street and Grafton Road for street widening in connection with the scheme to provide an improved outlet from Stanley Street. The area to be leased is on tho eastern boundary of the club's property. The term of the lease is 2.1 years at a peppercorn rental, the council to have the right to determine the lease and re-enter at any time on giving two years' notice. The council will compensate the club, if this right is exercised, on a sliding scale, full compensation for the capital cost _of improvements to be. paid if re-entry is made within the first 10 years, two-thirds within 1" years, and one-third after the 17th year ®nd before the expiry of the lease.
