MOTORISTS IN COURT

PROSECUTIONS AT HUNTLY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. I HUNTLY, Thursday. A charge of negligently driving a motorcar was preferred against Colin C. Grant in the Huntlv Magistrate's Court today. Accused did not. appear but his statement was read. The magistrate convicted accused and fined him 40s, costs 15s and ordered his licence to be endorsed. L. G. Hodgson was charged with failing to report an accident. Evidence was tendered by the police that Hodgson took a party of friends to Rotowaro in his motor-truck, which capsized over a bank. As n result one man was injured. Defendant said the accident occurred through liis lights- failing and he was not aware that the accident should be reported. He pleaded guilty. The magistrate took a lenient view of the case and fined accused 10s, and costs 10s.
