TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— Mainly fine weather is expected,' although unsettled at times, with occasional showers, particularly in districts bordering on the west coast of both islands, and in areas southward of New Plymouth and Napier. Westerly winds, moderate to strong, veering to north. Seas moderate. Barometric pressure is relatively low in the south, but is increasing temporarily in the north. A general decrease is indicated after about 36 hours, under the influence of an Antarctic disturbance approaching from the west. Barometer, midnight, steady .. 29.90tn. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—Present indioa Lions are lor westerly to south-westerly wirjds, squally at times in and southward of Cook Strait; weather changeable generally, with rain m many parts, and becom ing colderj but improving later.
