REPORTS OF MANAGERS. Hauraki 'Mines.—The 400 ft. level has been cleaned up and the now truck road laid for 700 ft. to the point where the crosscut for the Hauraki North section branches from the main level, and to-night a start will be made to clean up and relay the rond in the crosscut, which-is in 200 ft and vvHhii 30ft. of the Hauraki North boun dnrv This' crosscut is 200 ft. lower than the lowest wonkinas in' that section A fit ait has been made to open out the- 400 ft . level chamber, in preparation for sinking the shaft. A water-pipe line is being put in for the rock drills. Ihe main plungetnump is coping with the incoming water at eight and a-half strokes a minute, and there is only one small dam m the seawaid end of the 400 ft. level to clear of accumulated water. This, will be let go in a day or two after which both cages be telegraphed yesterday :- Comnleted laying road to face of Hauraki North crosscut. Commencing driving ahead tO-day.
