RUGBY FOOTBALL.
KING'S COLLEGE V WANGANUI THE ANNUAL MATCH TO-DAY. The annual match between the first fifteens of King's College and Wanganui College will be played at the King's College Grounds this afternoon, commencing at 2.30 o'clock. Four matches have previously been played between the two colleges, Wanganui having won three and King's College one. MOASCAR CUP CONTEST. * [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] "WAIPAWA, Tuesday. The Palmerston North High School played a challenge match against the Te Ante College to-day for the Moascar Cup. Rain fell throughout the match, and the ground was a Quagmire. Te Aute retained the cup, winning by 8 points to 5.

The following have been selected to represent Maniapoto and Kawhia (Northern King Country) against Southern King Country, at Taumarunui next Saturday.—Franks, Kino, Dockery. A. Telfer, T. Taylor, Baggs, R. Smith, Weo, Roberts, Hobson, Butler, Ronaidson, Falke, J. Brennan, Tetslaff. Emergencies: McMonagle, Wallace, Brown, and Allen. THE WAIPA UNION. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. The Waipa Rugby Union last evening decided to negotiate for a senior representative match at Te Awamutu, between Waipa and Matamata, the game to be classed as an elimination one for the right to challenge the holders (Hamilton) of the Peace Cup. A junior representative team is likely to be sent to Auckland to play a return match with the Eden Club team, which visited Te Awamutu last season. , Mr. G. Gifford. first-aid man and caretaker of the club s property, tendered his resignation. Acceptance of the resignation was deferred in the hope that, Mr. Crinora may be prevailed upon-'to continue nis useful services. i
