POLICE COURT NEWS.
MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES.
Charges of stealing an overcoat valued at £6, the property of George Henry Leak, and a hat valued at 6s 6d, owned by Robert Hunter, were preferred against a seaman, William John Evans, aged 44, in the Police Court on Saturday. Accused admitted taking the hat, but denied having taken the coat. Accused was convicted on the charge of stealing the hat and remanded for sentence. A remand was made on the other charge. A Norwegian, Olaf Strom, aged 54, pleaded guilty to a charge of being a rogue and a vagabond. Accused was placed in the care of Captain Davies, of the Salvation Army, until he could obtain work in the country. For using obscene language in Pitt Street, Reginald Charles Gordon King was fined £3, or seven days' imprisonment.
