DAMAGE BY FIRE.
HUNTLY COTTAGE BURNED. PREMISES VACANT AT TIME. [BY telegraph.—own correspondent.] HUNTLY. Sunday. A four-roomed cottagß in Huntly West, owned by Mr. J. B. Harris, and occupied by Mr. H. McNally, was destroyed by fire at 2.30 this afternoon. No one was on the premises at the time of the outbreak. The furniture and effects were insured in the Norwich Union Office for £2BO. EARLY MORNING OUTBREAK. 9 HOUSE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH. Sunday. A fire early yesterday morning damaged a house at Terrace End owned by Mr. Stitchbury, of Auckland, and recently leased to Mr. Kendall, of Takapau. Mr. Kendall had transferred part of his furniture to the house, and had returned to Takapau to bring the remainder, together with his family. The insurance on the house was £BOO. WORKSHOP AT ROTORUA. LITTLE DAMAGE DONE. [BY , TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA. Sunday. A fire occurred in Mr. A. M. Stephenson's coach-building establishment in Fenton Street at about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The damage was confined principally to the floor of the shop near one of the woodworking machines. TWO TAURANGA DWELLINGS. i SUPPRESSION OF THE FLAMES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA, Sunday. A fire broke out at about four o'clock yesterday morning in a house at Tauranga occupied by Mr. E. Smythe. The brigade prevented considerable damage being done. About 10 o'clock the brigade was called to a dwelling next to the gas works, but before their arrival the works manager had extinguished the flames.
