BODY FOUND IN LAGOON.
OLD MANS SAD DEATH. [BY TELEGRATH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J WANGANUI, Wednesday. The police received information to-day that the body of an old man, Richard Payton, 82 years of age, residing at Maxwelltown, had been found in a lagoon not far from his home. The deceased, who was an ex-railway man, had been greatly upset over the illness of his wife. The old couple were extremely devoted to each other, and Mrs. Payton is not expected to live. The fact that she became unconscious on Monday night caused the husband so much grief that he left the house and was never seen alive again. A search party to-day -found -hi#? body in -the Jfl#on».
