DISPUTE OVER DRAINS.
ACTION AGAINST FARMER. COURT GRANTS INJUNCTION. [By TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Tuesday. Reserved judgment was delivered by Mr. Justice Herdman in - the Supreme Court, Hamilton, to-day, in the case in which Ethel Winifred r Williams, wife of James Gordon Williams, farmer, Orini, sought £2OO damages and an injunction against Percival Masters, a neighbouring farmer. Mr. F. A. Swarbrick appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. N. S. Johnson for defendant. It was alleged that defendant had constructed certain drains on his property which caused flooding and damage to plaintiff's land. . His Honor awarded the plaintiff £5 damages and granted the injunction sought, to come into operation in six months in order to give the defendant time to apply under the Lands Drainage Act for permission to construct a drain through plaintiff's property.
