DAIRY CONTROL.

' Sir,-—" Scrutator" quotes Mr. Goodfellow as saving: "It is absolutely hopeless to think of re-establishing price-fix-ing." "For years " are two words which " Scrutator" should have added, to be correct. As a farmer in New Zealand for over S3 years, I desire to express appreciation of the good work done, and many benefits received, through the New Zealand Dairy Company, one of the last benefits being a big reduction in price of manures. Without united effort, farmers will be imposed upon by those who form associations in order to secure high prices which farmers have to pay. The labourer has fixed hours and a minimum wage. What about the farmer ? In my opinion our Arbitration Court 'S unnecessary expense, and a one-sided farce. Men of outstanding ability always have a certain amount of opposition and enmity to contend • with. It is men of Mr, W. Goodfellow's calibre farmers require to assist them, either in or out of Parliament. A. L. Macdonald. Papakura.
