OBITUARY.

MR. JOHN WISEMAN. ; Advice has been received by mail this week of the death in San Diego, California, of Mr. John Wiseman, aged 67, of the firm of J. Wiseman and Sons, Ltd., which occurred on April 23. Up to the time of his departure for America, some 25 years ago, Mr. Wiseman was the managing director of the firm. He was commodore of the Auckland YScfit Squadron, and it was largely through his efforts that the Auckland Yacht Club secured the right to prefix the word "Royal" to Its title. SISTER MARY TERESA. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WANGANUI. Wednesday. The death of Sister Mary Teresa, aged 79 years, occurred at the convent, St. John's Hill, this morning. Sister Mary Teresa came to New Zealand from Australia in April, 1880. She was beloved by all for her devoted charity to the poor. She held various offices in the community, and was reverend mother for nine consecutive years.
