Caul, of Wellington, are at the Grantj Hotel. Mr. E. E. Humphreys and Mr. W. b. Foster, of Wellington, are at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. S. Donaldson, Mayor of New. market, left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. F. E. Ives, of Wanganui, and Mi. H. A. Samuels, of Hamilton, ire at the Royal Hotel. Mr. H. M. Campbell, M.P. for Hawke's Bay, ■who has been visiting Auckland, left for the South by train last evening. Mr. and Mrs. M. France, of Hastings, and Mr. and Mrs. M. Stephenson, of Arapuni, are at the Central Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. J. Robinson, of Christchurch, and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Ballinger, of Wellington, are at the Star Hotel. Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P., left last evening on a visit to Great Barrier Island, which is included in the Auckland West electorate. Mr. R. M. Grant, of Christchurch, Mr. W. Bell, of Timaru, Mr. H. A. Goudie, of Rolorua, and Mr. Percy Bond, o! Hawera, are at the Central Hotel. Mr. F. Brett, of Otira, Mr. F. H. Morton, of Wellington. Mr. H. G. Luke and Mr. L. Hawke, of Napier, and Mr. G. W. Corbridge, of Palmerston North, are at the Star Hotel. Major R. Miles, of General Headquarters, Wellington, has been appointed artillery staff officer for the Northern Command. The duties of this office were formerly performed by Lieutenant-Colonel I. T. Standish, assistant-adjutant and quartermaster-general. Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie and Mr. T. U. Wells have been re-elected unopposed to the Auckland University College Council as representatives of the graduates. Mr. G. H. Wilson has been re-elected unopposed as representative of Auckland members of the General Assembly. Mr. W. A. Leitch, inspector of ihg Union Bank in New Zealand and chairman of the Associated Banks of New Zealand, will leave Wellington shortly for Melbourne, to take up the post of chief inspector of that bank. Mr. Leitch, after some mercantile experience, began his banking career with the old Bank of South Australia, an institution ultimately taken over by the Union Bank. in 1892. His experience in the Union Bank includes service as accountant for 20 years at the Wellington branch. He Will be succeeded as inspector bv Mr. W. A. Kiely, manager of the Wellington branch. Mr. T. P. Fotheringham, manager at Tolagj Bay, will be manager in Wellington.
