BOXING AT SYDNEY.
PURDY OUTPOINTS BUXTON. WINNER FROM THE START. (Received June 9, 1.15 a.m.) A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, June 8. In a contest at the Stadium Purdy, 9st. 101b., outpointed Sid Buxton, 9st. 101b., in 15 rounds. Purdy had the better of matters from the start, and frequently had Buxton badly shaken with straight lefts to the head and body. Buxton's swings lacked direction and were easily evaded by the New Zealander, who at the conclusion of the bout had a comfortable lead on points. Purdy never at any time looked like being beaten, and won practically every round.
