(Received June S. 8.25 p.m.) A. and N.'Z. BRISBANE. June 8. The fight between Nelson McKnight (lOst 6£lb) and Frank Austin (lOst 9|lb) at Brisbane on Saturday, which ended in a draw, was a ding-dong go from start to finish. The newspapers describe McKnight as the toughest fighter seen in Brisbane for many years. Austin is noted as a terrific puncher, and time find again he landed hard blows to the point and to the body, only to find McKnight boring in and asking for more. In view of McKnight's inexperience his impulsiveness would have brought disaster had lie been unable to take heavy punishment, because Austin smothered until the New Zealander exhausted himself, and then he made a counter-offensive. Austin brought more strategy to bear, and against a man with an ordinary jaw or midriff would have been successful.
