AUCKLAND AFFAIRS. PLAYERS ORDERED OFF. THE REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURES. The cases of five players who had been ordered off the field in the Auckland Rugby Union's competitions last Saturday, came before the Management Committee last evening. Mr. H. Frost presided. The first two players dealt with were P. McCarthny, Ponsonby, and V. Hargreaves, Grafton. Mr. W. J. Meredith, referee in the Ponsonby-Grafton senior match, reported that Hargreaves had made a rush at McCarthy in a line-out. McCarthny did not have the ball. McCarthny got a strangle hold on Hargreaves and both fell to the ground. He had had occasion to warn McCarthny previously for obstruction. McCarthny in evidence said the referee had not put the case quite rightly. He thought Hargreaves had. the ball after running five or six yards from the line-out, and had tackled him from behind. Hargreaves corroborated the evidence of McCarthny. It was decided thai the ordering off was sufficient punishment and that no further action should 'be taken. Mr. C. \V, Schnauer, referee in the lillers-lie-Manukau senior B grade match, reported B. Cohen, Ellerslij, for repeatedly talking and disputing decisions, J. Brindle, Manukau, and D. Dunn, Ellerslie, for fighting. It was decided that Cohen should be made to apologise to the referee. Brindle. who admitted striking an opponent, was severely reprimanded by the chairman. Dunn, who did not appear, \va3 ordered to down until he appeared before the committee. On the recommendation of the Junior Management Board, H. Valentine, of the Grey Lynn sixth grade team, was suspended for the remainder of the season for using bad language. It was decided to play the South Auckland representatives, at Pukekohe. on June IS. This decision means that another representative team will have to be chosen as the Auckland representatives will play Thames on that date. Technical College Old Boys were granted permission to play the lvaipara representatives at Helensville, on June 18. tlio Auckland Union to have first call on the Technical players, if required, on that date. W, Sturmey was granted a transfer lrom the Ellerslie Club to Manukau Hovers. The chairman reported that Mr. G.
