DOMINION ROAD LIGHTING.
Sir,—l would like to . inquire why it should be necessary to make an exception re the time for switching off the electric street lights in the above district. 1 do not know of any other district in Auckland where street lights are switched off before midnight. The lights from Dominion Eoad tram terminus to past Shackleton Road are off every night at 11.30. This means that all people leaving town after 11 p.m. must in darkness after leaving the tram should they happen to be going along the main road As there are some urtfenced sections where a false step would mean perhaps a broken leg I am sure residents of this vicinity would more than appreciate the liehts being left on until at le&st mid* night. Resident.
