DEFENCE TRAINING.
COURSE FOR OFFICERS. I I Military activities are at present confined mainly to the New Zealand Staff I Corps. Since the territorial postings, ! routine drills have been carried on by ! all units of the service. The annual camps, the last ol which took place last month, will not start again until the summer. November being the usual month for the resumption of training. A special course for territorial officers, extending over a month, will commence at the rooms of the Officers' Club next week Theoretical training will be under taken during four evenings of each week, while during the week ends the officers will be engaged in practical work. The interest in the lectures for N.C.O.'s at the Drill Hall has been well maintained Some instructive addresses have been given by Colonol H. R. Potter, Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft. Lieutenant-Colonel J. Hardie Neil, Major N. L. McKay, Lieutenant-Colonel J. E. Duigan and Lieutenant C. S. J. Duff. The course will conclude on August 25.
