SPORTS CASUALTIES.
MISHAPS ON SATURDAY. RESULT OF GREASY FIELDS. '' t " With playing fields made greasy and slippery' by heavy rain there was an appreciable list of sports accidents on Sat. urday afternoon. In the jockey match at Remuera «>etween St. Luke's and Mount Eden, a St. Luke's player, J. Giles, fell heavily and broke his collarbone. He was treated at the ground by Dr. R. Leonard and Dr. Roberton, and was later removed to his home. Dr. Leonard, playing for the University hockey team against Wesley, received a blow in ilia eye from a ball and was treated at the hospital. A League footbnlier, G. Campbell, of the Richmond senior team, sustained injuries to his thigh as the result of an accident while playing at Carlaw Park. Ho was admitted to the hospital, and his condition is reported to be quite satisfactory. J. O'Brien, a Devonporfc League player, was treated in the casualty ward lor an injury to his head, and X, Hybrid, another League player, who resides at 42, West End Avenue, was admitted suffering from a severe cut on thi> heaci.
