LACK OF REFEREES
THE ASSOCIATION CODE. Following upon complaints at a previous meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Football Association, letters were received at the meeting last evening protesting at the failure of referees to officiate in three matches Mr. T. G. Wilkes stated that the publicity given to he matter at the previous meeting, had helped to relieve the position slightly, hut as matters stood, the Referees' Association had no deputies in the event of any referee hesrig unable to control a fixture. He stsll hoped that more old players and followers of the code would join the association, as She position was really serious. The letters of protest wcro referred to the Referees' Association for consideration.
