SUBSIDY TO LOCAL BODIES. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. [fit jELEGEAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT. J WELLINGTON. 'Monday. A complaint emanating from Christ- \ church that the Government had treated ! local bodies unfairly in placing a limit |jof £4OO on the subsidy for expenditure 'connected with the reception to the Duke Duchess of York was referred to-day to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. JL F. Bollard. His reply was that £4OO was granted in accordance with the arrangements by the Government, but in view of further representations inquiries w»re being made. The final adjustment of? the subsidy would be made when that information had been obtained.
